Privacy

The short version: Vertimo runs entirely on your Mac.
Your files never leave it. The app collects nothing. This website sets no
cookies and runs no analytics for ordinary visitors; the one thing it loads
is Google's ad-conversion tag, in cookieless mode, to measure our
advertising (details below).
The app
- Your files stay on your Mac. Every conversion happens on-device. Vertimo never uploads, transmits, or copies your files anywhere. It works exactly the same with the network unplugged.
- No account. There is nothing to sign up for and no profile to create.
- No analytics, no telemetry, no tracking. The app contains no analytics or advertising SDKs and sends no usage data. If a future version ever offers crash reporting, it will be strictly opt-in, and this policy will be updated first.
- Sandboxed by design. Vertimo runs in the macOS App Sandbox and can only read files you drop on it or folders you explicitly grant. Folder permissions you grant are stored privately on your own Mac.
- The free-conversion counter lives on your device. We have no record of what you convert, or how much.
- Purchases are handled by Apple. Vertimo is bought through the Mac App Store with your Apple ID, whether the one-time purchase or the optional Vertimo Pro subscription. Apple processes the payment; we never see your name, payment details, or Apple ID. See Apple's privacy policy for how Apple handles purchases.
This website
- vertimo.app is a static page served by Cloudflare. Like any host, Cloudflare processes standard technical data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and secure the site; see Cloudflare's privacy policy. We do not access or retain these logs for analytics.
- Advertising measurement. So we can tell whether our Google ads work, the site loads Google's conversion tag. By default it runs in Google's cookieless consent mode, so for ordinary visitors it sets no cookies and stores nothing. If you arrive by clicking one of our ads, it sets one measurement cookie and records a single event when you click through to the Mac App Store. Ad personalization is off, no profile is built, and none of this runs inside the app. See Google's privacy policy.
- Aside from that tag, there are no analytics and no other trackers, and the fonts are self-hosted.
Children
Vertimo is not directed at children under 13, and since it collects no data, it collects no data from children either.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated effective date. Given what Vertimo is, we expect it to stay boring.
